Important Details

According to the information available on the exchange, the Board of Directors of Medanta, at its meeting held today, approved the execution of definitive agreements (Built-to-Suit and lease arrangement) with Shripal Hospitality and others to establish a state-of-the-art super specialty hospital in Varanasi.

The proposed hospital will be developed on strategically located freehold land in central Varanasi and is expected to cater to a population of over 4 million in the city and its surrounding regions.

The hospital will deliver advanced clinical care through a combination of (1) world-class medical expertise, (2) cutting-edge technology, and (3) a comprehensive multi-specialty offering, a company spokesperson added.

Total Investment

The Company is required to make investments in deposits, Interior fit-outs, MEP, medical equipment, and any other associated capex.

The total investment made by the Company is estimated at INR 550 crores.

The funding will be a combination of internal accruals and debt financing, as per the company officials.

Duration

The proposed construction of the hospital is expected to be completed within 4 years, subject to necessary customary and statutory approvals.
