India’s gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection for the month of March 2026 stood at INR 2 lakh crore, increased by 8.8 percent on a year-on-year basis (INR 1.84 lakh crore for the same period last year).

On a month-on-month basis, GST collection increased from INR 1.84 lakh crore in February 2026 to INR 2 lakh crore in March 2026.

Gross Domestic GST Revenue: Rose by 5.9 percent Y-o-Y to INR 1.46 lakh crore.

Import-Related GST Revenues: Grew by 17.8 percent annually (INR 53,861 crore).

Gross Domestic GST Revenue: Rose by 5.3 percent Y-o-Y to ₹1.35 lakh crore

Import-Related GST Revenues: Grew by 17.2 percent annually.

The 56th GST (Goods and Services Tax) Council meeting, led by the honourable Finance Minister Shri Nirmala Sitharaman, on September 3, 2025, approved a two-slab structure, i.e., 5% and 18%, and no GST on individual health insurance policies.

Yes, there will be a special tax of 40 per cent for sin, super luxury, and demerit goods such as cigarettes, pan masala, and tobacco, as per the GST 2.0 news.

With these reforms, the GST will eliminate the multiplicity of slabs, i.e., 5 percent, 12 percent, 18 percent, and 28 percent.

In a late evening media briefing, finance minister Sitharaman said that this is not just GST rate rationalisation but a structural reform that will ease compliance.

Atlanta Electricals Ltd. is one of the leading manufacturers of power, auto, and inverter duty transformers in India (in terms of production volume, as of FY 24).

It is also one of the few companies in India that manufactures transformers with a capacity of up to 200 Mega Volt-Amp (MVA) and a 220 kilovolts (kV) voltage.

With a pan-India presence and operations spanning over 30 years in the transformer manufacturing industry in India, the company supplies a wide range of transformers starting from 5 MVA/11 kV up to 200 MVA/220 kV.

Manufacturing Facilities

• The company operates with three manufacturing facilities, two located in Anand, Gujarat, and one in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Customer Base

• As of September 30, 2024, the company has a customer base (208 customers) in three union territories and 19 states, across India, with a supply of 4,000 transformers, aggregating to 78,000 MVA to various national and state electricity grids, private sector players, and prominent renewable energy generation projects.
• Some of the renowned customers of the company include Adani Green Energy Ltd, Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd, SMS India, and TATA Power Ltd.
