Tempsens Instruments: History

The Company was incorporated as Tempsens Instruments (India) Private Limited, a private limited company under the Companies Act, 1956, on September 14, 1990.

The Company was then converted into a public limited company on August 7, 2025, under a special resolution passed by the shareholders.

Its name was subsequently changed to Tempsens Instruments (India) Limited, and the RoC issued a fresh certificate of incorporation on August 27, 2025.

Tempsens Instruments (India) Ltd is a thermal engineering and specialised cable manufacturer.

The Company offers a diverse product portfolio structured around three core verticals –

  1. Temperature sensing solutions,
  2. Electrical heating solutions, and
  3. Specialised cables.

The Company’s products play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing processes across multiple industries, such as aerospace, defence, food processing, power generation, nuclear, steel, oil & gas, petrochemicals, and other process-driven industries.

Largest Manufacturer

According to the F&S Report, Tempsens is the largest manufacturer of contact and non-contact temperature sensors in India (by revenue), with a 10 percent market share in the temperature sensor segment during the year ended March 31, 2025.

It is also the only Indian manufacturer of non-contact temperature sensors and held approximately 18 percent market share during Fiscal 2025, according to the F&S Report.

It is one of India’s largest manufacturers of electrical heaters by installed capacity as of March 31, 2025, according to the F&S Report.

It is also the only manufacturer of fibre optic temperature sensors and thermal profiling systems in India as of March 31, 2025, according to the F&S Report.

From April 1, 2022 until March 31, 2025, the company has served more than 345 unique client across multiple industry endpoints, which include power, steel, glass, and oil and gas, amongst others.
